The Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC) Report of Accomplishments and Recommendations is ready for public review and comment. This report identifies the the major accomplishments of the council since its inception in September 2008, briefly discusses some challenges faced and improvements needed and makes recommendations for on-going activities for the council. The primary recommendation is the pursuit of formal establishment of the council via legislative action.
This report is intended to meet the requirements of the charter as stated in the following:
"The Council shall report its accomplishments and recommendations for its continuance to the Wisconsin State Cartographer and to the Wisconsin Geographic Information Officer no later than June 30, 2010"

The council encourages you to review and comment on any or all of the document. A discussion forum has been established to allow comment and the free exchange of ideas about the report and improved coordination of geographic information resources in the state. The public comment period will run through July 2, 2010. The council will review the comments and intends to adopt the report as final at the monthly meeting July 15, 2010. After that time the council will take appropriate steps to implement report recommendations.
