The primary purpose of this letter is to encourage you to participate in the upcoming WIGICC Network meeting on June 10. The Council is attempting to get real action started on some of the big issues that have been raised during the listening sessions, network meetings and many other "get-togethers". In order to be successful, we need to engage the entire community, get specific actions identified and people working together to resolve issues. At this point I think people across the state are still waiting to see what WIGICC can and will do. I think it is in our best interest as federal agencies to see that we have a successful coordination group that will include our perspective with statewide policies and practices. Now is a time for leadership and we can provide some of that by getting involved in resolving the 4 issues being discussed at the Network meeting.
There are several way to get involved. First attend the meeting. It is being held in Wausau and there will be a teleconferencing and webex access. Second, participate in the WIGICC website "Forum" on these issues. Provide your perspective and ideas to the forum before and after the meeting. There is a specific posting for the "Data Sharing" group that you can read and respond to. The other topics will also be putting something up, but you can provide your ideas at any time. I would encourage specific recommendations or actions that you believe will help lead to a solution.
You should be able to find the details at http://wigicc.org/. For now focus on the "Network" -> "Forum" section. I am attempting to get the Federal CoP portion of that site up and running but am still working with Eric Mickelson to make that happen. I will let you know when I have that rolling.
