Council Committees
WIGICC’s operations and strategic objectives are addressed by committees and working groups. Standing committees focus on WIGICC operations such as outreach and communication. In addition, special-purpose committees are formed to address specific issues or objectives. For a list of these, click here. If you wish to become a member of a specific committee, contact the appropriate committee chair. If you see areas in need of focus that are not listed, please contact a council representative or fill out this form.
Communities of Practice
Meetings and Events
The Council meets at least quarterly. Meetings are open to all Network members. Network, Communities of Practice, and Council committees meet throughout the year. For information about upcoming meetings and events, look here.
Interim Council
The interim Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC) is comprised of 15-members, including representatives from local, county, state, and federal governments, regional planning commissions, colleges and universities, non-profits, and the private sector, as well as a Tribal liaison. The Wisconsin State Cartographer and Wisconsin Geographic Information Officer serve as ex-officio, non-voting members on the Council. In the spring of 2008, the WIGICC Working Group conducted a nomination and election process, in coordination with organizations representing each of the functional sectors, to select the members of the Interim Council. Interim Council members serve a two year term through 2010, after which nominations for new members will be solicited on a rotating basis.
